Knights Defeat Conference Rival Cabrini

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College men’s tennis team defeated conference rival Cabrini College, 9-0, Tuesday night Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opener for both teams.

 

The Knights opened the match by taking all three doubles matches. First doubles of Dave Pfister and Brian Crispin defeated Mingkuang Luo and Justin Walsh, 8-4.  Chris Brown and Dan Harnos took No. 2 doubles, 8-2 and Steve Klenk and Greg Bridgeman won 8-6 against Michael Sim and Walter Jesuncosky at No. 3 doubles.

 

The Knights came out focused and determined to sweep all six singles matches. Pfister battled Mingkuang Luo to win in two sets, 6-3, 7-5. Chris Brown defeated another top singles opponent Justin Walsh 3-6, 7-5, (10-3) super breaker. Brian Crispin clinched the match for the Knights defeating John Van Wagner 6-4, 6-2. Greg Bridgeman played very strong tennis to beat Michael Sim 6-2, 6-0. Dan Harnos won at 5th singles defeating Brendon Hajas 6-4, 6-4.  Steve Klenk defeated Walter Jesuncosky 6-2, 6-2.

 

Head Coach Gosseaux stated, “I am very proud of the teams overall effort today, we came out focused and played hard and smart tennis from start to finish. Cabrini is a top rival, and we certainly expect seem them in the season later down the road.”
