Men's Tennis Advances to CSAC Finals

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Neumann College men’s tennis team defeated Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Marywood University, 5-0, Friday morning in the CSAC semifinals to advance to the Tennis Championship match.

 

The Knights dominated doubles action as they have all season in conference play. The team of Brian Crispin and David Pfister triumphed over Greg Chilson and Evan Bolus 8-4. Dan Harnos and Chris Brown controlled the match to win over Tim Franzone and Dan Reynolds 8-4. Greg Bridgeman and Steve Klenk continued their excellent doubles play, defeating Bao Nguyen and John Dominder 8-2.

 

In singles play, Knights used a strong performance from the bottom of its lineup to post two singles victories to win the match.  Klenk gave the Knights their fourth point at 6th singles by defeating John Dominder 6-1, 6-0. Bridgeman clinched the match for Neumann by posting a 7-5, 6-0 victory over Dan Reynolds.

 

In tournament play, once the winning team wins the fifth point, the match is ended.

 

The Knights will compete for their second consecutive CSAC Title tomorrow morning against Gwynedd-Mercy College. The match will begin at 9:30 a.m.
