ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) – TennisRecruiting.net listed UCF head coach Stephanie Nickitas' trio of recruits for 2009-10 as the fourth-best mid-major class in the nation. It was the highest of any Conference USA program. Last year her first UCF class was ranked sixth.
This year’s group includes Winter Park High School’s Jenna Doerfler, Allison Hodges or Germantown, Tenn., and Genevieve Lorbergs of Victoria, Australia.
“We are very excited about this year’s recruiting class,” said Nickitas, who just completed her second season with the Knights. “Jenna, Allison and Genevieve are very talented young athletes who can make an immediate contribution to our team’s success. All three possess a high level of dedication and commitment to both their tennis and academics. We welcome them to the Knight family.”
Pepperdine topped the list at No. 1, followed by Long Beach State and Akron. Members of C-USA that made the top 25 include Tulane (No. 7), Marshall (No. 11) and Memphis (No. 16).
UCF concluded its 2008-09 season with a 12-10 dual-match record, giving Nickitas 24 victories in her two seasons with the Black and Gold.
