Men's Tennis Opens Season With Win at Brown

Providence, R.I. - The Boston College men's tennis team started the spring dual match season on the right foot, defeating Brown University 5-2 on Monday afternoon.

The Bears, ranked #4 in the East region were upset by a balanced attack from the Eagles in both singles and doubles play.

Junior Thomas Nolan and partner sophomore Erik Kreutzer ranked #13 in the East Region defeated opponents Chris Lee and Noah Gardner of Brown in the No. 1 doubles spot 8-4. Kreutzer also won his singles match, defeating challenger Nathaniel Gorham in straight sets 7-6, 7-6 in the No. 3 spot.

Freshman Akash Muppidi had a strong showing for the Eagles in his first collegiate match, winning his singles match in the No. 4 spot 6-1, 1-6, 7-5 and in doubles play in the No. 3 spot with senior Sam Wagner.

Men's Tennis opens the season at home this weekend against Davidson at 10 a.m.
