Men's Tennis Loses to Virginia 0-7

Charlottesville, VA - The Boston College Men's Tennis team traveled to Virginia over the weekend to open their 2009 ACC schedule with matches against Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia, losing both matches 0-7.

The Eagles took one doubles match against the Hokies on Friday afternoon, with Thomas Nolan and Erik Kreutzer winning the match 9-8. In singles, freshman Alex Skinner battled back after dropping the first set 7-6 to take the second 6-7 and force a third set tie breaker before falling 10-5 in the No. 4 position.

On Saturday the Eagles traveled to Charlottesville to take on the Virginia Caveliers. BC fell to Virginia 0-7 without registering a single win. Freshman Akash Muppidi playing in the No. 3 singles position took his opponent Steven Rooda to a three set tie breaker before falling 6-2, 4-6, 10-5.

The Eagles return to the Northeast this week when they travel to New Hampshire on Tuesday to take on the Dartmouth Big Green in Hanover.
