Los Angeles, Calif. - The Boston College men's tennis team defeated Loyola Marymount 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon. The match, originally scheduled for Monday was postponed due to the weather.
Leading the BC charge was junior Thomas Nolan in the No. 1 singles position, defeating his opponent Ivan Lopez in straight sets (6-4, 6-2). Nolan and partner sophomore Erik Kreutzer also continued their strong run in the No. 1 doubles position picking up an 8-2 victory.
Freshman Akash Muppidi continued his strong showing in the No. 2 singles spot defeating Renzo Maggi (6-3, 6-2). Muppidi and partner sophomore Adam Davison also picked up a victory in the No. 3 doubles match with an 8-4 defeat of Lopez and partner Nick Von Der Ahe.
The Eagles also picked up singles victories in the No. 4 and No. 6 spots from freshman Alex Skinner and sophomore Brian Locklear.
The Eagles will play in the Pacific Coast Doubles competition before resuming their ACC schedule at home against Maryland and non-conference opponent Villanova on March 14 at 10 a.m.
