Men's Tennis Upsets Princeton at ECAC Indoors

Cambridge, Mass. - In the first match of the ECAC Men's Team Indoors Championships hosted by Harvard University, the No. 10 seed Boston College men's tennis defeated No. 7 seed Princeton University 5-2.

In the No. 1 and No. 2 singles draw, junior Thomas Nolan and freshman Akash Muppidi both defeated their opponents in straight sets. Nolan won 6-3, 6-3 and Muppidi 6-1, 6-4.

The Eagles also picked up victories from freshman Alex Skinner in the No. 4 singles match (6-2, 6-2) and in the No. 6 draw from sophomore Brian Locklear (7-6, 6-3).

BC also defeated the Tigers in all three doubles matches to take the doubles point and the victory. In the No. 1 spot Nolan and partner Erik Kreutzer defeated Capkovic and Vuckovic 8-5. Vuckovic had bested Kreutzer in the No. 3 singles match (6-3, 6-0). The Eagles also picked up wins in the No. 2 and 3 doubles matches from junior Brian Garber and Adam Davison and Muppidi and partner senior Sam Wagner.

The Eagles will face No. 2 seed Columbia University on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
