Men's Tennis Defeats Yale 4-3 at ECAC Indoors

Cambridge, Mass. - The Boston College men's tennis team defeated Yale in the consolation round of the ECAC Men's Indoor Team Championships at Harvard University on Sunday, 4-3.

The Eagles ranked No. 10 in the tournament who were knocked out of title contention by Columbia on Saturday, rallied to defeat Yale University, ranked No. 6 in the tournament.

The Bulldogs won the doubles point with wins in the No. 2 and 3 spots, but the Eagles were able to outlast their opponent in singles matches with wins at No. 1, 3, 4 and 5 positions.

Thomas Nolan continued a strong weekend of play in which he won both his single and doubles matches against Princeton with a three set victory over Jeff Dawson of Yale (7-5, 5-7, 7-6). Nolan won the first set and dropped the second before rallying in the third for the win.

BC also posted wins from Erik Kreutzer, Alex Skinner and Brian Locklear to edge Yale by one point.

The Eagles will hit the road next weekend, traveling to Virginia to open their ACC schedule with matches at Virginia Tech on Friday and Virginia on Saturday.
