Women’s Tennis Recruits Win State Titles
Saturday, 01/08/2011

PEORIA, Ill. - Bradley women's tennis head coach Scott Petersen will welcome a pair of state champions to his squad when the Braves report to campus in August as incoming freshmen Adele Henke (Edina, Minn./Edina) and Sarah Rodefeld (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) each won state championships during their final prep seasons.  Joining Henke and Rodefeld in the incoming freshman class is Meredith McDonagh (Bryan, Ohio/Bryan) who signed a National Letter of Intent in the Spring.

Henke helped her team to a Minnesota Class 2A girls' tennis team title in the fall.  The senior captain played #2 singles for the Hornets in the championship match against Elk River as she helped Edina to its 13th consecutive Class 2A championship.

Rodefeld capped off an undefeated season in doubles play with a state doubles title in June.  In their third season as a doubles team, Rodefeld and teammate Susie Chen finished the regular-season with a 19-0 record and went on to add 10 more victories in the postseason as they defeated a duo from South Bend St. Joseph's for the state title.

Rodefeld finished her prep career as Carmel High School's all-time wins leader with 101 victories and went 83-0 in her final three seasons after posting an 18-6 record as a freshman.

McDonagh finished her senior season with a 28-6 record and was a First-Team All-District selection, while helping her team to a 15-4 overall record.
