Boca Raton, FL - Marcy Hora-Cava, Florida Atlantic University's first year head tennis coach, saw the Owls sweep both doubles and singles to defeat Wofford College, 7-0, Friday afternoon.

The match began with a light midst and threat of rain at Boca Raton's Patch Reef Park's Tennis Center. The two teams squared off in doubles with Wofford forfeiting no. 3 doubles due to a lack of players. Only needing one of the remaining two doubles matches, the FAU duo of Natalia Totevska and Dominique Wimmer defeated Cayley Wetzig and Sabrina Smyers (WOFFORD) 8-5 at no. 1 doubles. No. 2 doubles was more of the same with FAU's Erika Mrazkova and Danielle Simone defeating Haley Baird and Abby Cunningham (WOFFORD) 8-2.

Holding one point secured in doubles play and one point from a forfeit at no. 6 singles due to Wofford five-man lineup, the Owls moved into singles action with a two point lead and only needing four for the victory.

Play on courts one through six was quick, with FAU victories earned at each position. The most contested matches were played at no. 2 with FAU's Dominique Wimmer defeating Sabrina Smyers 7-5, 6-1. At no. 3, FAU's Erika Mrazkova defeated Haley Baird 6-4, 5-7 and 10-6 in a pro-set.

FAU (1-3) will next play host to Florida Gulf Coast 1 p.m., Saturday, January 31 at Patch Reef Park.
