BOCA RATON, FL (February 1, 2009) – Florida Atlantic University’s women’s tennis team saw its win streak snapped with a 5-2 loss to Columbia.
FAU, playing its third match in as many days, dropped the doubles point but picked up a win at no. 1 doubles behind the efforts of Natalia Totevska and Dominique Wimmer at 8-5. No. 2 and no. 3 doubles were decided at 8-4, 8-6.
Erika Mrazkova captured the first FAU dual match point at no. 3 singles defeating Carling Donovan 6-4, 6-4.
Virginia Augustin grabbed the second FAU point defeating Marlena Hall 3-6, 6-4, 10-6. FAU will next travel to Lynn University where the squad will face one of the country’s top-rated Division II program.
