BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women’s tennis team hosts the adidas Hoosier Classic on Sept. 23-25 to open the 2011-12 season.  The Hoosiers will welcome Georgia, Kansas State, Notre Dame and members of Abilene Christian to the IU tennis courts this weekend.
 
There will be four flights of singles play and one flight of doubles play taking place throughout the weekend. Competition begins with singles play at 11 a.m. on Friday morning.
 
The Hoosiers return five players from last year’s squad including All-American Leslie Hureau and All-Big Ten selection Evgeniya Vertesheva.  IU head coach Lin Loring also welcomes five freshmen to this year’s team, which ranked as the No. 6 women’s tennis recruiting class in the country for 2011 according to The Tennis Recruiting Network.
