BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Senior Evgeniya Vertesheva and sophomore Kayla Fujimoto of the Indiana women’s tennis team will travel to Memphis, Tenn., this weekend to compete in the ITA Regional Championships. The University of Memphis will be hosting with main draw play beginning on Saturday, Oct. 15.
The Hoosiers are part of the Ohio Valley regional and two rounds of doubles will begin the day on Saturday morning with one round of singles in the afternoon. Vertesheva and Fujimoto will team up for doubles with their first match against Kentucky’s Khristina Blajkevitch and Jessica Stiles beginning at 8 a.m. CT on Saturday.
In singles, No. 80 Vertesheva is seeded fourth in the region and will battle Andrea Wolf of Xavier on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT. Fujimoto is scheduled to play at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday and will await a qualifying opponent, which will be determined on Friday afternoon.
