Wednesday night saw some awesome tennis on Center Court at the Kailua Racquet Club for the Island Design Center Women's Night Doubles.
The 6:00pm match was a see-saw battle. The HPU team of Anastasiya Ageychik and Zora Vlckova were firing on all cylinders and it looked like they were going to destroy the UH team when they were up 6-1, 4-1.
Then came a great example of how tennis is a game of momentum with the UH team of Anja-Vanessa Peter and Melinda Wong winning 11 out of the next 14 games and taking the match, 1-6, 7-5, 6-2. It was outstanding tennis with long rallies, angles and loads of power and spin.
The second match of the evening also had a big comeback with the #1 seeded team of Sophie Kobuch and Ellen Linszenbolz falling behind in the first set before recovering to win against the spirited HPU team of Ingrid Cseh and Tinka Mihova 7-6 (2), 7-5.
Spectators were impressed with the level of play for both matches.

Thursday, November 13: At 6:00pm the #2 seeded team, from HPU, of Aleksandara Stankovic and Sandra Wikstrom taking on the UH team of Alyssa Nafarette and Natasha Zorec The 7:15pm match has Kana Aikawa And Rie Yukihiro playing Big Island Pro Kady Pooler (humongous serve) and local favorite, Kailua Racquet Club pro Judy Weitz.
