Honolulu (10/9/09) – The HPU women’s tennis team was back in action for Day 2 of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. The three-team event is hosted by UH-Manoa and includes HPU and Texas State. All matches are held at the UH Tennis Complex.

HPU was victorious in both its doubles matches. Zora Vlckova teamed up with Ingrid Cseh to defeat the Texas State pair of Andrea Giraldo and Melissa Hadad, 9-7. Because of roster shortages, Tinka Mihova partnered with UH’s Dasha Lagmay. The duo topped Texas State’s Nyssa Peele and Amanda Alvarado, 9-7.

Mihova posted HPU’s lone singles win, topping Alvarado 6-1, 6-1. Cseh lost to Hadad 7-5, 6-1, and Vlckova was defeated by Giraldo 6-3, 6-2.

The three-day tournament concludes Saturday with the start time set at 10:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
