At Central Oahu Regional Park, the HPU women's tennis team topped Chaminade, 9-0. The match was the season opener for both teams.
HPU wasted no time in overwhelming the Swords. The pair of Anastasiya Ageychik and Nina Mihova topped Audra Takara and Tiffany DeVincent 8-4 in one doubles. Lauren Shin teamed up with newcomer Zora Vlckova in two doubles, defeating Stacey Chaussey and Natalie Phanphengdy , 8-3. In three doubles, Ingrid Cseh and Tinka Mihova topped Silkie Kawahakui and Kiana Iwado, 8-0.
Vlckova was impressive in singles action as well. She debuted in one singles and defeated Takara 6-0, 6-0. In two singles, Nina Mihova, ranked #45 nationally, topped DeVincent 6-4, 6-0, and Ageychik dominated Chaussey 6-1, 6-0 in three singles.
Cseh defeated Phanphengdy in four singles (6-0, 6-1), Shin topped Kawahukui in five singles (6-2, 6-2), and Tinka Mihova blanked Iwado in six singles (6-0, 6-0).
