Waipahu, HI (3/4/09) – At Central Oahu Regional Park, the 12th-ranked HPU women’s tennis team returned from a lengthy road trip to trounce Presbyterian College, 8-1. The Sea Warriors improve to 6-1 while the Blue Hose fall to 2-10.

HPU took two of the three doubles matches. Ingrid Cseh and Zora Vlckova topped Virginia Waldron and Paige Oelke in one doubles, 8-1.

Tinka Mihova and Nina Mihova won 8-3 in three doubles, but Aleksandra Stankovic and Lauren Shin fell 8-4 in the two doubles match.

Singles action was highlighted by #45 Nina Mihova’s resounding defeat of Abby Diminich at love in two singles. HPU swept all six singles matches en route to the 8-1 win.

Vlckova topped Heather Isbell in one singles, 6-0, 6-4, Cseh came back from one set down in three singles to win 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 over Megan Davis, and Tinka Mihova edged Cara Caruso 7-5, 6-2 in four singles.

In five singles, Stankovic defeated Oelke 6-0, 6-2 and Shin topped Waldron 6-3, 6-3 in six singles.

HPU return to the court on Tuesday, March 10 against Northwestern College (MN). Start time is set for 9:00 a.m. at Central Oahu Regional Park
