Tennis Hits the Road to Battle Tennessee and Kentucky
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 54 Indiana women’s tennis team will take to the road to take on a pair of SEC opponents this weekend. The Hoosiers will battle No. 25 Tennessee on Friday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m. ET in Knoxville. IU will conclude play this weekend at Kentucky on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. ET.
The Lady Vol roster features two players ranked in the top 35 in singles nationally and a top three ranked doubles duo. Tennessee’s Bryn Boren currently sits at No. 18 in the ITA singles rankings as Kata Szekely is ranked 34th in the country. Those two are also a doubles pair and are ranked No. 3.
Kentuckysits at 4-2 so far this season. The Wildcats have faced two Big Ten opponents this season and are 1-1 in those matches. UK defeated Ohio State in its last match on Tuesday, 4-3. Nadia Ravita is ranked No. 67 in singles for the Wildcats.
The Hoosiers are a perfect 8-0 to start the season heading into the weekend. IU is 46-2 in singles matches during dual play and holds a 23-1 mark in doubles in those same matches. Friday’s matchup with Tennessee will be IU’s first against a ranked team this season.
