Western Michigan Women's Tennis Knocks Off Michigan State, 4-3

KALAMAZOO -- The No. 61 Western Michigan women's tennis team knocked off No. 70 Michigan State, 4-3, at the West Hills Athletic Club on Friday night.
The Broncos (9-3) opened by taking the doubles point as senior Ashley Moccia and freshman Jenny Nalepa won 8-1 at No. 3 and senior Kerstin Pahl and sophomore Amanda Moccia won 8-2 at No. 2.
WMU kept up the pressure in singles as freshman Rachel Denny won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 6 singles for a 2-0 lead. The Spartans (6-5) won at No. 5 to cut the lead in half, but then the Broncos rattled off the next three wins to finish Michigan State.
Ashley Moccia won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 and Dudzik was victorious 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles to clinch the match.
The Broncos host Rice on Saturday at 1 p.m.
