Wildcats Fall Just Short to East Central Warriors

In their first match back from Spring Break, the Pearl River Wildcats fell just short to the East Central Warriors, losing 5-4 at Gadis Park in Forest.

In doubles, the Wildcats were only able to claim one of the three courts.  At No.1, Steven Bracey of Columbia and Roy Odom of Gautier fell to Colton Amis and Dee Walker 8-6.  At No.2, Jordan Henry of Petal and Darnelle Sanford of Hattiesburg pulled the first poin for the Wildcats, defeating Will Marston and Jason Hancock 8-6.  At No.3, Dustin Slade of Waveland and Ross Lee of Lumberton fell to Matt Griffin and Zac White 8-5.

In singles, after a long battle, No.1 Bracey couldn't quite pull out the match, falling to Amis 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.  At No.2, Henry defeated Marston for another Wildcat point 6-7(5), 6-2, 11-9.  At No.3, Sanford also gained a point by defeating White 6-4, 5-7, 10-6.  At No.4, Odom fell to Hancock 6-2, 6-1.  At No.5, Slade continued his winning streak, defeating Walker 6-2, 6-1.  At No.6, Lee lost to Griffin 6-1, 6-1.

The Pearl River Wildcats will be on the road again Monday, March 29, when they travel to Booneville to take on the Northeast Mississippi Tigers at 10:00 a.m.  They will then travel to Fulton to play the Itawamba Indians at 3:30 p.m.
