The Pearl River Wildcats played another close dual match today, but were defeated 5-4 by the Gulf Coast Bulldogs.
In doubles, No.1 player Steven Bracey of Columbia was absent today, so Mark Riley also of Columbia stepped into the position to partner with Roy Odom of Gautier, but the team was defeated by Kriss Baglais and Alex Drake 8-0. At No.2 Jordan Henry of Petal and Darnelle Sanford of Hattiesburg defeated Lin Jacobson and Travis Ladner 8-3. At No.3 Dustin Slade and Ross Lee were defeated by Taylor Thrash and Tyler Eggers 8-2.
In singles, at No.1 Riley was defeated by Baglais 6-0, 6-0; at No.2 Odom was defeated by Drake 7-6(4), 6-4; at No.3 Henry defeated Jacobson 6-2, 6-0; at No.4 Sanford defeated Ladner 6-1, 6-3; at No.5 Slade defeated Thrash 6-0, 6-1; and at No.6 Lee fell to Eggers 6-2, 6-1.
The Wildcats have another home match Monday, April 5 when they will compete with the Hinds Community College Eagles. Play is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
