USD WOMEN’S NETTERS RECEIVE WCC POSTSEASON HONORS
(San Diego, CA) – The USD women’s tennis team, ranked 57th in the nation with their 13-9 record, received good news today with four players being recognized by the West Coast Conference. Freshman Juliette Coupez (Lesquin, France), who played No. 1 singles for the Toreros and finished with a 12-8 spring record, was named to the All-WCC Singles First Team. Senior Tammy Kevey (Auckland, New Zealand) and freshman Maja Sujica (Zagreb, Croatia) were named to the All-WCC Doubles First Team. The Torero tandem combined for a 16-5 doubles record during the spring, including a 15-4 mark at No. 2 doubles.
Kevey was also named to the All-WCC Singles Second Team. She finished an impressive 17-5 this spring, including marks of 7-1 at the No. 3 position and 10-4 record at No. 4 singles. Freshman Marite Raygada (Lima, Peru) was tabbed a WCC honorable mention selection for singles. She finished 17-2 overall with marks of 8-2 at No. 5 singles and a perfect 9-0 record at No. 6 singles.
