Ducks Tripped Up by Women of Troy

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Oregon women's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 10 USC on Saturday afternoon at the Trojans' Marks Stadium.

USC improves to 10-2 (1-0 Pac-10) while the Ducks fall to 7-6 (1-3 Pac-10).

The Women of Troy won all three doubles matches by 8-6 finals and then needed just two sets to win five of six singles match. Oregon's Siobhan Cavan, at No. 5 sinlges, was the only Duck to force a third set, losing 6-2, 1-6, 10-2 after the match was in hand for Southern California.

After playing four Pac-10 opponents in back-to-back weekends, the Ducks will play just one conference match next weekend when they travel to Pullman, Wash., to play Washington State at 10 a.m. on March 13. After that dual Oregon will play four matches during spring break, heading to Washington to battle the Huskies before heading down to the Gulf Coast to play Alabama, LSU and Tulane.
